Barnsley, Wakefield | £24,570–£25,935 per annum
Full Time (37.5 hours per week) – Term Time Only

Park House School is a specialist SEND school providing a fresh start for pupils with complex needs and disrupted educational experiences. We are seeking a committed and caring Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.


The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils’ learning, behaviour, and wellbeing under the guidance of teaching staff. You will work closely with teachers, families, and professionals to help pupils engage positively with education in a safe, nurturing, and trauma-informed environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils’ learning, behaviour, and emotional development in line with individual needs

  • Assist with classroom preparation, learning activities, and record-keeping

  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and engagement

  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues

  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities, confidentiality, and the Staff Code of Conduct

  • Actively embed the EPIC values (Excellence, Passion, Integrity, Caring)


About You

  • Passionate about supporting pupils with SEND and complex needs

  • Experience working in an educational, care, or SEND setting

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and behaviour-management skills

  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable

  • Willing to engage in ongoing training and professional development


Contract & Benefits

  • Salary: £24,570–£25,935 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

  • Term Time Only: 40 weeks per year (September–July), including 10 mandatory training days
