As a Deputy Manager, you’ll be at the heart of a dynamic residential team, helping to create a safe, supportive space where families and young people can thrive. Your work will be essential in empowering families, strengthening relationships, and building the foundations for long-term stability and positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Deputy Home Manager, you will be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children and young people. You will be responsible for delivering quality care services and strategic planning for developments within the home. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership: Leading your team and working with other professionals to provide therapeutic care and support tailored to each child.
  • Role Model: Acting as a positive role model for both colleagues and children, fostering an environment of recovery, growth, and lasting change.
  • Supervision and Mentoring: Supervising and mentoring staff, organizing work patterns, facilitating care-focused training, and accessing appropriate services to support childcare practices within the home.
  • Daily Management: Overseeing all day-to-day management matters, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.

What Do You Need?

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a Residential Children’s home.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 4 in Management or Childcare, or willing to work towards it.
  • Knowledge: Related knowledge of Ofsted legislation and safeguarding procedures.
  • Attributes: Highly driven, proactive, enthusiastic, and a strong people manager with a hands-on approach.
  • Skills: Experience with budgets and rotas.
  • Driving Licence: A full driving licence is essential.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexibly, including shifts and sleep-ins.
