Children's Support Worker (Waking Nights)
Location: Hayling Island
Salary: £13.60 per hour (This rate is effective as of 1st April - if you start prior to this date, your hourly rate will be £13.00 and will be automatically uplifted on 1st April)
Hours: 8pm - 8am (39 hours per week on a rolling shift pattern.) Part time considered.
We are looking for a resilient and nurturing Children's Support worker to join our family home, caring for young people who have emotional and behavioural difficulties. You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient during times of crisis and be a friendly face to provide support during the night time.
The role can be emotionally challenging and you could be handling difficult situations BUT you could be the person to change a life for the better.
What do you need?
- Previous relevant experience or transferable skills such as nursery, adult care, police, education, ex forces or supporting vulnerable people.
- A real passion and desire to support children in a homely environment
- A good level of English communication skills, Makaton or BSL would be beneficial.
- Experience or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models.
- Naturally caring, flexible and resilient.
