Children's Support Worker (Waking Nights)

Location: Truro

Salary: £13.70 per hour

Hours: 8pm - 8am (36 hours per week)

We are looking for a resilient and nurturing Children's Support worker to join our family home, caring for young people . You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient during times of crisis and be a friendly face to provide support during the night time. 

The role can be emotionally challenging and you could be handling difficult situations BUT you could be the person to change a life for the better. Personal care is required as part of this role.

A level of personal care would be required according to the child's needs.

What do you need?

  • Previous relevant experience or transferable skills such as adult care, police, education, ex forces or supporting vulnerable people.
  • A real passion and desire to support children in a homely environment
  • A good level of English communication skills, Makaton or BSL would be beneficial.
  • Experience or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models.
  • Naturally caring, flexible and resilient.
  • Full UK drivers licence would be beneficial.
