Trainee Forensic Psychologist
Salary: £30,000 PA
Car Allowance: £3,600 PA
Location: Kidderminster (Hybrid – home-based significant travel to allocated residential children’s homes)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Trainee Forensic Psychologist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills while delivering evidence-based psychological support within residential children’s homes. You will play a key role in supporting children and young people with complex needs, helping to improve outcomes through therapeutic practice and informed intervention.

Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a qualified Psychologist:

  • Support development and implementation of the Keys therapeutic care model
  • Collaborate with operational and clinical colleagues to embed high-quality, trauma-informed practice
  • Contribute to assessment and formulation of children and young people’s needs
  • Provide psychological guidance for risk assessment and management
  • Deliver training and guidance to residential staff to strengthen practice and understanding
  • Promote wellbeing, learning, and inclusion of children and young people
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports in line with professional standards
  • Conduct psychological research relevant to children and young people with complex needs

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Undergraduate Psychology degree (or equivalent) with GBC
  • Completion of academic training towards registered status (e.g. accredited MSc or BPS Forensic Psychology Stage 1)
  • Experience working psychologically with vulnerable children or in residential care settings
  • Experience of multidisciplinary team (MDT) working
  • Strong interest in forensic psychology and supporting children with complex needs
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a car
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to travel regularly to allocated residential homes
