Senior Residential Activity Worker (RAW)

Location: Gloucester GL4

Salary: £13.30 to £13.90 per hour - £26,972.40 - £28,189.20

Shift Patterns: Full time - 4 days and overnights followed by 8 days off

Additional Earnings: Up to £6,765.12 per year from 9 sleep-ins per month (£62.64 per sleep-in)

Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle: Essential

Mandatory: Level 3 or above NVQ/QCF in Childcare (applications without this will not progress)

More about the role

You will be part of a team that provides a safe and often life changing experiences for children and young people, led and supported by a Registered Manager. This senior role is to support the Service Manager in providing the best quality care in a safe and focused environment.

Activity and Intervention services offer a twelve week programme for young people who require alternative accommodation to break the cycle of circumstances they find themselves in. During that stay, young people take part in number of adventurous activities which aim to restore their self-confidence, build trust and establish positive relationships with highly trained and experienced adults.

There is a heavy focus on taking part in outdoor/physical activities, including mountain biking, adventurous jumping, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, hill walking, rock climbing and bouldering.

Living and working with young people over four or five day shifts, including overnights, our Activity teams provide support in a range of different places across the Shropshire area and North Wales national parks.

What do you need?

We are looking for someone with a Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent and who has a minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a similar environment.

An enjoyment of outdoor activities and a willingness to learn new skills.

We want people who are naturally caring, flexible and resilient.

You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins.
