At Audley School

We are committed to each and every one of our pupils, providing specialist support tailored to each individual’s unique needs and helping all pupils from KS1 to KS3 achieve their full potential.

Children often come to our school with negative perceptions of the education system, having experienced repeated rejection. We are dedicated to turning their experience of learning into a positive one

We are currently looking for a qualified SENDCo to join our Senior Leadership Team at the school. In addition to the duties of a SENDCo, the successful applicant will also be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the school.

Overview of the role of SENDCo:

  • Support with the strategic development of SEND provision in the school.
  • Complete Annual Reviews, Interim reviews and Emergency Reviews of EHCP’s in line with the SEND code of practice.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies.
  • Advise on the use of school’s budget and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively, including staff development.
  • Promote inclusion in the school community and access to the curriculum.
  • Leading and managing staff and the effective deployment of staff and resources.
  • Quality assurance of Teaching and Learning with a focus on SEND provision.
  • Delivering safeguarding training to staff within the school.
  • Ensuring safeguarding measure are effective.
  • Liaising with multi agencies to ensure all of our students are safe and well.

  • Have an accredited SENDCo qualification.
  • Are passionate about education and inclusion.
  • Would like the opportunity to lead provision outside of a mainstream environment.
  • Are ready to develop their leadership skills within a school.
  • Can effectively manage the SEND provision in partnership with the Headteacher.
  • Have a thorough understanding of multi-agency safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
