Salary: £26,228 - £27,593 | Full Time (37.5 hours/week)
Purpose of the Role
To support teaching and learning by assisting teachers in delivering education and care to pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The Teaching Assistant will embody the EPIC values and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to create a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment that promotes pupil wellbeing and achievement.
At Moorlands View School
Part of the Keys Group, Moorlands View School is a welcoming and nurturing provision. A co-educational independent special school that provides a supportive and personalised education programme for pupils aged between 7-16. The school caters for pupils with complex social emotional and mental health needs.
The majority of our pupils are Children Looked After, living in Keys Group residential homes in the local area. Moorlands View School provides a therapeutic informed approach and specialist support in a nurturing environment
Key Responsibilities
- Mentoring, supporting and inspiring a 121 student supporting them with curriculum-based learning in the classroom, and through outdoor activities
- Assisting with the preparation of learning material and contributing to the delivery of learning objectives with a strong focus on behavioural management and emotional health assessment tools
- Daily reports on your 121 learners’ progress and barriers to learning
- Work collaboratively with members of SLT and Student Support & Intervention Mentor to support students and their parents
- Interaction with parents/care givers on a regular basis
Requirements
- A committed and passionate view of students with SEND and SEMH
- At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
- A level 3 TA qualification is advantageous
