Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker
Location: Pulborough, West Sussex
Salary: £26,364 - £27,783 per year PLUS additional £3,000-£6,000 per year for sleep-ins
Hours: Full-time, 39 hours per week working a rolling shift pattern, 2 on 4 off.
Full UK Driving Licence is required
We are looking for a children's support worker to become part of our loving family home, caring for younger children who have sometimes emotional and behavioural difficulties. You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient and understanding during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop.

The role can be emotionally challenging and you could be handling difficult situations BUT you could be the person to change a child's life for the better.

What does the job involve?

- Act as a professional parent, to give encouragement and praise.
- Enjoy fun days out and get involved in activities.
- Provide emotional and physical support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations
- Build friendships and trusting relationships
- Help them to find pleasure in everyday tasks
- Empower them to make decisions about themselves
- Ensure a safe home environment, cleaning, laundry, cooking is part of the job.
What do you need?
- We want people who are naturally caring, flexible and resilient.
- Passionate about supporting children to lead happy lives.
- Great communication skills, positive and energetic.
- Experience in care or transferable skills such as mental health, education, sports or working with vulnerable people.
- Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations.
- Full UK Driving licence is essential.
- You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins
