About our Postgraduate Teacher Apprentice programme:

Acorns School are delighted to be partnering with Best Practice Network for the Postgraduate Apprentice programme. You will benefit from bespoke weekly core training days with your fellow trainees, additional tailored subject-specific training days, a school-based mentor and a personal Best Practice Network apprenticeship tutor. As well as support from a knowledgeable and accessible programme team, including a placement coordinator who will arrange your second placement in a contrasting school environment. Our course curriculum is designed using the latest research evidence of what works best in teacher training.

Our Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship programme offers high-quality, practical training in our partner schools with support and enhancement opportunities provided by our skilled BPN colleagues and lead partners.

Overview of the role of Apprentice Teacher:

  • You will receive centre-based training one day per week and in-school placement 4 days a week
  • Centre-based training includes but is not limited to; induction, intensive training and practice blocks, behaviour and classroom management, curriculum design and assessment, the role of the teacher, subject specific content in all areas of the National Curriculum, and curriculum enhancement sessions lead by sector experts
  • The full 12-month programme will enable you to obtain your Qualified Teacher Status on successful completion of the Postgraduate Teacher Apprentice programme

We would love to hear from people who:

  • Have an undergraduate degree at class 2:2 or above, or equivalent in all core subject specialisms.
  • Have GCSE’s at grade C (or level 4) inclusive of English and Mathematics
  • Genuinely enjoy working with children and young people; who support our vision, that every child should have access an excellent education regardless of background and who are committed to ensuring positive outcomes for children.
