Onboarding Coordinator
Package Description
- Coordinate the onboarding and initial assessment process for new students entering the service
- Review referral information including EHCPs, risk assessments and provision objectives
- Build positive, professional relationships with parents/carers and young people, guiding them through the onboarding process
- Arrange and conduct initial assessment meetings, gathering detailed background and contextual information
- Complete initial assessment documentation clearly, accurately and thoroughly
- Develop and maintain general risk assessments, working closely with the Safeguarding Team where risks are identified
- Liaise with internal colleagues to confirm provision suitability and safe tutoring arrangements
- Communicate confirmed tuition plans clearly to families and answer any questions
- Share key case information with Area Managers, Progress Coordinators, tutors and specialist teams
- Ensure tutors receive all relevant information prior to provision starting
- Maintain accurate records and update the MIS system with all documentation and communications
- Conduct a follow‑up check‑in with families within the first two weeks of tuition
- Support a smooth handover to operational teams once provision is established
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Term-time plus 4 additional weeks per year
- (Including 2 weeks during the summer holiday)
- Experience working within the education system or children’s services
- Experience accessing and interpreting EHCP documentation
- Experience communicating directly with families, preferably in family homes
- Experience completing risk assessments and understanding risk management
- Strong understanding of SEND and how to support young people effectively
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, GDPR and confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident working as a lone worker
- Ability to manage workload, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
- Full UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle for business use
- Honours degree
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
