Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker - EBD
Location: Pulborough 
Salary: From £14.45 per hour
PLUS an additional £62.64 per sleep in  £3k - £6k per annum for sleep ins.
Hours: Full-time, 39 hours per week working  shift patterns which includes long days and additional sleep ins.

We are looking for support workers to join our 5 bed Children's home and be part of an amazing team, supporting young people to reach their full potential and have positive outcomes.
You would be supporting 5 young females , aged between 11 - 18, supporting them to navigate their personal and emotional development , family networks, peer networks , education and health alongside behaviours of concern. Young people we support may present as withdrawn, have self injurious behaviour, demonstrate violence and aggression and may be at risk of or victims of Exploitation.
We often work with young people who have experienced abuse and neglect, therefore building positive relationships and trust is at the core of what we do. Supporting young people to reach their potential and transition into independence.
Our young people have varying degrees of need, and we put the child at the heart of all that we do, to support their individuality and strive to meet their needs. Our support offers a bespoke package of care which includes a specialist team, and Keys clinical team. 
Our Specialist team included specialists int he following areas: 
  • Self injurious behaviour and suicidal ideation 
  • Sexually harmful behaviors 
  • Substance misuse 
  • Exploitation 
  • Police Liaison 
We also work with an Art Therapist and clinical psychologist to give advise and support.
You would be part of a team who are compassionate, dedicated, resilient and supportive to the young people and to each other, with support from a long standing, experienced, Registered Manager.
The role can be rewarding, but also challenging. It will be a journey with ups and downs, but we take the journey together.

What does the job involve?

  • Ensure a safe home environment, cleaning, laundry, cooking is part of the job.

What do you need?

  • We want people who are naturally caring, flexible and resilient.
  • Passionate about supporting children to lead happy lives.
  • Great communication skills, positive and energetic.
  • Experience in care or transferable skills such as youth work, education, sports or working with vulnerable people is beneficial 
  • Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations.
  • Full UK Driving licence is desired & highly beneficial (due to location of the home)
  • You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins
