We’re looking for a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor and Pastoral Support to join our team. You’ll play a vital role in working with learners, assisting with daily operations, and supporting sessions and activities run smoothly across our alternative provision locations. From covering tutoring sessions, providing pastoral support, supporting learners during exams and assisting with invigilation, your work will make a real difference in helping our young people engage, learn, and thrive.

This role is primarily based in Thetford, with work taking place across Norfolk and a willingness to travel to Suffolk when required. Every day is different, giving you the opportunity to work directly where support is needed most.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver session cover to support effective teaching and learning.
- Promote learner engagement and conduct welfare support checks.
- Provide administrative and learning resource assistance.
- Support learners and staff with digital access and online learning.
- Assist with exams, assessments, and day-to-day centre operations.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Experience in customer-facing or educational support roles, including learner supervision or pastoral support.
- Proven administrative skills, with experience in record-keeping, handling enquiries, and using databases or management information systems.
- Familiarity with the UK Curriculum and educational environments.
- GCSEs (or equivalent Level 2 qualifications) in English and Maths.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational ability, with attention to detail and effective task management.
- Confident user of IT systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance.

- Friendly, approachable, and professional manner.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
- Calm, adaptable, and responsive under pressure.

Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel as required, with access to a suitable vehicle, valid business insurance, and breakdown cover.
Job Type:
- Full-time: 40 hours per week, 40 weeks per year
- Working hours: 08:30am – 17:00pm, Monday to Friday
