Residential Support Worker Children's Homes - Drivers

Location: Ipswich

Salary: £25,552 - £26,972 per annum DOE  PLUS additional £3000 - £6000 pa for sleep-ins. (£62.64 per sleep-in)

Shift patterns - Full time working long days plus extra sleep in (approx. 2 shifts per week)

Full UK Driving licence is required.

We are looking for a resilient, empathetic and caring children's support worker to become part of our small family home, caring for children aged 6 - 16 years who have profound and complex learning disabilities and Autism. You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient and understanding during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop.

The role can be emotionally challenging and you could be handling difficult situations BUT you could be the person to change a life for the better.

What do you need?

  • Previous experience supporting adults or children who have LD, Autism, complex needs beneficial but not essential.
  • We want people who are naturally caring, flexible and emotionally resilient.
  • Great communication skills, positive and energetic.
  • Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations.
  • Full UK Driving licence is essential.
  • You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins.
