Job Title: Children's Support worker - learning disabilities
Location: Liverpool, L9
£25,552.80 - £26,972.40 (£12.60 - £13.30 per hour) Plus - £62.64 per sleep-in (working approx. 4-8 sleep ins per month, an additional £3,000-£6,000pa)
Full time hours working 24 hour shift, long day plus sleep in.
Full UK Driving licence is beneficial
We are looking for a resilient and nurturing Children's Support worker to join our family home, caring for young people who are aged between 8 - 18 years and have severe learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, some of whom are non verbal. You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop.
The role can be emotionally challenging and you could be handling difficult situations BUT you could be the person to change a life for the better.
A level of personal care is required according to the child's needs.
What do you need?
- Previous relevant experience or transferable skills such as adult care, police, education, ex forces or supporting vulnerable people.
- A real passion and desire to support children in a homely environment
- A good level of English communication skills, Makaton or BSL would be beneficial.
- Experience or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models.
- Naturally caring, flexible and resilient.
- Full UK drivers licence would be beneficial.
