Overview of the role of Assistant Headteacher:
- Joining the Senior Leadership Team to provide outstanding leadership and management of the school.
- Have a deep and accurate understanding of the school’s strategies for improvement.
- Attending multi-agency meetings to effectively support our pupils.
- Providing exemplary pastoral care across the school
- Oversee teacher development and improvement across the school.
- Contribute to the mental health and wellbeing of staff and students.
- Deputise for the Associate Headteacher and Executive Headteacher, when required, and in their absence.
- Maintain up to date records of teacher standards and implement a suitable CPD programme.
- Line management of subject teachers.
- Ensure that assessment information is used to plan appropriate teaching and learning.
- Support all staff with effective behaviour management.
- Contribute to the appraisal process and inductions of new staff within the school.
