Salary: Starting from £45,000 | Full Time (40 hours/week)
Purpose of the Role
To lead and coordinate the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that all pupils receive personalised, high-quality support that enables them to achieve their potential. The ALNCo will champion inclusive practice, work collaboratively with staff and external agencies, and model professional integrity and the EPIC values as outlined in the Staff Code of Conduct.
At Mynydd Haf School
Mynydd Haf School provides high quality learning experiences within a small, focused nurturing environment to secondary school aged children who have an IDP/ALN Statement and have ADHD and/or express behaviours that are challenging or inappropriate in a community setting. Class sizes are small. The staff to student ratio is usually 2:4 in all classes.

Key Responsibilities
- Support with the strategic development of SEND provision in the school
- Complete Annual Reviews, Interim reviews and Emergency Reviews of IDP’s in line with the SEND code of practice
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability
- Oversee the looked after pupils within the school
- Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
- Advise on the use of school’s budget and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively, including staff development
- Promote inclusion in the school community and access to the curriculum
- Leading and managing staff and the effective deployment of staff and resources
- Lead on interventions that will support all pupils
- Quality assurance of Teaching and Learning with a focus on SEND provision
- Attend and review PEP meetings
Requirements
- Have an accredited ALNCo/SENDCo qualification
- Hold QTS or QTLS
- Are passionate about education and inclusion
- Can effectively manage the SEND provision in partnership with the Headteacher
